While keeping the function of climate and light control, the options are endless: florals, geometrics, ikats, velvets. layering fabric panels with wood blinds, Roman shades or cornices. There truly are so many different trends to consider,” Carroll Ast said.

1. Layering of beautiful fabrics and texture.

Angela speaks more about motorization…”They also may want to set a schedule to control light. In fact, you are seeing this motorized trend spread across furniture too. Recliners are programed to recline to your set position, plus they will have a charging station. This does seem to be a common thread. Many of the case goods: side tables, Desk, end tables, Bombay chest and entertainment systems, they all contain electronic components these days.”
4. Wider-slat blinds
If drapery and fabric treatments are out of the question, invest in a set of wider-slat blinds instead. Angela recommends choosing a set with slats of at least 2.5 inches, as it looks sleeker, maximizes the view and eases the cleaning process. This is the perfect option in modern design but can work well in virtually any style home. Its a clean look that you can always build on too.

With tall windows, top treatments can go for drama. Lots of beautiful fabric swags, simple designs make huge impact on the design of a space.
